1st WORDS

Let's go down memory lane for a minute. What were the 1st word(s) that your new bird said to you when he/she started to talk?

I can remember my birds 1st words. She said "hello " and kept repeating it and repeating it until she got it right.

I'm sure you all remember your birds 1st words.

My bird is like my little baby. I remember everything and video everything on my digital camera.

Years ago, I had a pair of tiels. Male named Max and female named Tori. Max would say "hello Tori" "Come here Tori" "What are you doing Tori" It was the sweetest thing. He was such a flirt.

I've also had a Blue Crowned Conure named Alexander Nevermind (Alex for short). When I would walk in the room, he would greet me with "Hello Alexxxxxxxx."

I haven't had too many babies, but when I brought my 8 month old Eclectus home, her first words were "Hi, Ma".

My Quaker's first words were "Tiddy" (her version of Tilde).

My BG baby, Sailor, said "Hi, Baby" (Baby is his nickname)

Everyone else was already speaking when they arrived. My youngest BG hen used to repeat her original name, Maia, over and over until I changed it to Capri. She didn't care for that and compromised with Mia. Worked for me!

Tiki's first and only words were, "no, no, no, no, no." She said this the first time I tried to use a spray bottle for her bath! Well, the little princess only uses her water dish now! She tries to say hello and thank you sometimes but it never comes out like a true word. I always hear her practicing when she is in her cage and I'm in the other room.

My stepfather heard Cory say "hello" when they were birdsitting, so that was officially her first word. The first one I ever heard was "quiet".

I'd have to agree with Puddycat, I love this board as well. I spend hours everyday reading things and checking out pictures. I can't wait until I get my grey so I can tell you all about him/her. I've found a breeder that has 2 CAGs and 2 TAGs that will be available in late Dec/early Jan. My partner and I will be going out to meet them and to see which one picks me (I hope one of them will). I'll keep you posted!! :D
