i'd say it's too small... but then, i'm not sure i'm representative for overall opinion as i try to get the biggest cages for my guys

here's what valo calls his home (the little dark dot, is the bird)

reason i'm posting it, is that you can get this cage for only $30 more, and it's a lot bigger

People who have small to medium birds and are looking for a good decent sized cage, I usually recommend this cage... The cage comes in 2 door (HQ brand), or 1 door (A&E cages as well as Centurion Aviaries).

If they want something bigger, they can go from there! (such as the cage Bee has posted!)

I agree that cage is too small. The bigger the better imo. I like the one Monica suggested.

Rethought cages

I found another website with the same quality cages for even less then that one, and has a good selection of bigger cages. What do you think of these?
I personally like the first one.

all of them are nice cages - i'd go with the biggest one you can get; also width and depth are important.... though my guys like their high cages, they spend most of their time in the upper half... so large dimensions in width and depth gives him more room to move

I am pretty sure that the bar spacing limit for green cheeks is 5/8 of an inch. So, make sure that the cage you buy is below this (some of the above ones are not). If the bar spacing is too big your bird can get his head stuck in there and not be able to get it out.

I have read in several different places that the max spacing is 3/4" and some places agree with you that its 5/8". Can anyone clear this up?

I have my GCC in a cage with almost those exact dimentions and I have to agree that it IS too small for him. I'm cage poor right now (because of the holiday season) so my GCC will have to wait for a tax time (as I don't want to put the cage on a CCard either) for my refund for me to buy him a larger cage.

I'd say at least something that is 24x24xWhatEverHeight is a better minimum start. You'll have room for a lot more toys then (maybe even a "Happy Hut") and still give him some room to jump/climb/flap around. Always get the largest cage you can afford though is my opinion.

Our Sun Conure is in a cage that has 3/4 inch bar spacing and we quite often put the GCC in there with her and we've never had issues of the GCC ever trying to put it's head thru the bars. The Sun's cage is huge however, 36x36x72 are it's inner dimentions. She's got so many toys in there she's never bored and still can flap her wings wildly if she so gets the urge.

That's the size of the cage we plan on replacing his tiny 18x18x52 with 1/2 inch bar spacing cage with. He'll love the 3ftx3ftx6ft cage much more I think, maybe that'll cure some of his biting habbits.

Anyhow that's my experience so far. Just letting you know.
