Cotton Butcher's Twine

I found some Cotton Butcher's Twine at the local dollar store the other day.... bought it to bondage meat to roast in oven or put in roticery.....when I was bondaging bird (chicken NOT Tweety) earlier came up with a couple of thoughts.....

Would this cotton twine be OK to use with Tweety? Making string toys and hanging stuff with in cage ... not to bondage HIM with... not THAT warped..... BF is different subject but need rope instead of twine

Bundle/ roll of twine is 330 ft and only $2...... was going to stock up for meat usage but is I can use for Tweety stuff will clear out as mush stock as I can afford Dollar store only has items like this usually for only sooo long

If only I had room to store all the stuff I want to do and make while I'm stuck in the house..

Suz,
I don't know the answer to this. By bumping this thread up, maybe someone with the answer will see it.

It should be fine, I would think. I don't have any little guys but its safe enough to use on human foods, why not?

I'm not sure how thick it is... but I always worry about the "hanging factor" with any rope. Is it so thin that it could actually wrap around Tweetie's neck? I hate to sound so negative.... but would not forgive myself if I didn't speak up. Nancy - do you agree?

Kathie:

I bow to you on this. I don't have small birds so I don't really know what to advise. I won't use chain because of a near fatality here, but I use Paulie rope and cotton rope for the big guys all the time. So far, so good.

Working at the store, I sometimes hear horror stories. People call constantly with emergencies - they don't realize we are not vets. I just had a lovebird come in on Friday night. The owner didn't know why it was "attached" to its hut. It was one of the huts that are made out of the "fuzzy" fabric. Well, 20 minutes later, after I was finally able to unravel the threads that were wound around its neck at least 10 times and in different directions - not to mention the threads that were wound around its leg, he was free. Then he bit me.
