Thumbs up The 50 Rarest Birds in the World

I found this to be very educational and informative.

http://www.camacdonald.com/birding/rarestbirds.html

How many of them did you recognize?

Towards the end of the list there is one I found interesting but the picture didn't show up so I dug a little.
Check this fellow out.

Interesting site Graehstone, thanks for putting it up. I was struck by the Imperial Amazon as well as the Yellow Eared.

Thankfully, the Ivory Billed Woodpecker, once thought to be extinct, was recently sighted (with the sighting verified by experts), so with any luck at all, this one particular species may be able to hold on for awhile yet....

My Pics are from Parrot Jungle in Miami.
I never saw a red vent or Blue mutation yellow nape in person.
The Bronx Zoo has/had 2 St Vincents.

What ones do I recognize from that list???? let me see....

1: Abbotts Booby (what a strange name....)
2: California Condor
3: Imperial Amazon
4: Ivory Billed Woodpecker (I knew from elementary school that they still existed and wanted to find them myself....)
5: Kakapo (of course I can't forget the largest parrot in the world!)
6: Red Vent Cockatoo (saw one at a bird meeting I believe-Cockatoo Down?)
7: Salmon Crested/Moluccan Cockatoo
8: Spix Macaw
9: Yellow Eared Parrot a.k.a. Conure which feeds specifically on the wax palm (I think natives use to cut the trees down for palms during their celebrations??? However now they use green balloons?) More info about the YEC here - http://www.conure.org/index.html

I know one or two people who work with or in ICA although hadn't known about it until a meeting came up about conservation of parrots on an island.

There are some other names there that are familiar, however I can't say if I've heard of the birds before or not.... probably have heard of a few other's, just can't think of which ones for sure.
