Hey Xavier, did I ever tell ya about me & Murphy's law?
I'm very sorry I haven't finished that sketch of Aree.
I'm beginning to think that me doing that pic is cursed. The first 2 sketches have done have seen the freakiest accidents ruined them. The day I did the first one, it poured rain off & on all day. When I'd let the dog out just before I finished the sketch, it wasn't raining. Suddenly I hear a slight rumble of thunder, coupled with the sound of rain comin down hard. Then there's this great big commotion outside of barking & banging against the fence. I set the clipboard down on the edge of the freezer & went to let the dog back in. Have you ever seen an excited Bouvier? Let me clarify that: Have you ever seen an excited soaking wet Bouvier? an excited soaking wet Bouvier, that's been busy chasing the squirrels that have been raiding our garden? I opened the door & Max tried to run past me, but on the concrete floor, he slips&slides across the room to crash against the chest freezer. The freezer tips back, slamming into the side of the furnace. It rebounds back upright, then swings forward & almost tips right over. The freezer rocks back & forth a couple of times before it settles. The clipboard, however, isn't bolted down to the lid, so it goes sailing off the top to bounce & flip a few times off the floor. The dog sees you trying to catch this strange new "toy" and decides to give you a hand, err paw.... He expertly pins the clipboard to the ground. Of course, his big, extremely muddy paw comes down square in the middle of my sketch. I tried again and started a second pic of Aree. This one was destroyed by a daughter caused accident. She tripped - on one of the very same toys that moments before I had asked her to clean up before someone got hurt. Ironic I know, but now that the chaos is already in motion, what are the chances that her hands were empty? NIL. She'd just been given a cool treat to eat. (Ya can guess where this is going, can't ya?) Yeah that's right, her skid was on the perfect trajectory. To fulfill the tenants of Murphy's law, she threw out her hands to catch herself as she fell & flung her icecream sundae right onto my lap as I was drawing. There's poor Jim, sitting there in a pair of shorts & a T-shirt... SPLAT! Let me tell ya, I damn near jumped outta my skin!!! Not from the cold of the icecream either, but because of my allergies!!! I'm really reactive to even slight amounts of dairy foodstuff (less than 5 parts per million can cause a reaction). It's one time I'm just glad most of it landed on the clipboard! Needless to say, the clipboard and every sheet of paper immediately went into the garbage! I'm gonna try this one more time. If anything happens to the third pic, I'm gonna have to follow the baseball rules: 3 strikes & I'm out. I'll have to sit it out & wait till the next game. I'm sure ya can understand - the frustration level for me is getting kinda high. It's hard to just laugh & accept that something you put your effort into is just gone. You'd think after all the work I've lost to computer problems & BSOD's, I'd be used to it. (I don't know how those Bhuddist monks can work on those incredibly intricate sand art projects for months ... then when they're done, they simply destroy them. LOL, I guess it's just another one of the levels of meditation I haven't mastered yet.)

Luckily I don't have the skin reactions to dairy, but I've been gut sick pretty bad for the last 2 days.
