Ollie's Hoopball (Thanks James!!)

I finished it!!! Here is Ollie's Hoopball using James' fantastic instructions. She was a little unsure of it at first, but was sitting on it happily slurping on a small piece of popsicle (her bribe) within 5 minutes (pretty good for a grey , IMO!). The pics are blurry, well, Ollie is blurry- the camera was focusing on the hoopball and I didn't have time to mess with the settings.

Thanks again James!!

*it won't always be hanging from this light fixture...we don't have any hooks in our ceiling, so I have to wait until we get back to my apartment to hang it up for real!

Camille, that is just great! Ollie seems to be having the best time. Wish that Puff were not so afraid of new stuff.

Camille, it looks fantastic! I'll bet Ollie will love it as much as Bob and Arthur do (Gracie is scared to death of it! LOL!).

Looks great! Was it easy to do? I went out and bought the stuff to make it with yesterday! Unfortunately I won't be able to get to it for a couple weeks, due to work Also, how did you go about introducing your bird to it? I have a CAG who isn't too sure about new things.

The hardest (and most painful) part was wrapping the rope around the hoops. You have to do it reeeeaaaally tight, and it is definitely a 2 person job. After that it was easy as long as you know how to work an electric drill.

Ollie is usually pretty easy to introduce to new things. However, she wasn't too sure of this ginormous ball-like contraption. She sat on my shoulder and we slowly moved toward the ball while I talked to her in a sweet tone telling her how it wasn't scary at all, and that momma was right here with her, etc., etc. We got close enough to where I could touch it to show her it wasn't going to bite. I had a harder time actually getting her on it, so I cheated . She can't resist pop-ice popsicles. I just bribed her!
