Oldest caged parrot?

I found this today, and it says the oldest caged parrot (according to the Guinness World Records) was a 35 yr old Blue Fronted Amazon. I know there are older parrots out there! Has this record just not been challeged for a while?

I knew there were older parrots out there, it just seems strange that no one has challeged this. I don't have any really old birds, my oldest is my Hahn's Macaw "Higgins" and he is 15 yrs old.

i think it may be hard to prove older birds. Back then they may have not have recorded hatch dates.

The oldest documented bird I'm aware of is in Australia. Its in a zoo, can't remember the name and its a cockatoo. Last number I remember was over 106 years old.

There is a BG macaw in England that is also over 104. It was supposed to have once belonged to Churchill, but that has been denied by his daughter. She claims he once had an African grey, but no macaw.

Let me look for the press release.

A Cockatoo called "Cocky" is alleged to be one of the longest living of his species, although his true age was never authenticated. He was claimed to be over 120 years old when he died in 1916. He was owned by the licensee of the Sea Breeze Hotel at Tom Ugly's Point, New South Wales

WEll, since I don't want to subscribe to this particular periodical, all I can do is paraphrase from an article in March, 2004.

Charlie, a BG macaw once perportedly owned by the late Winston Churchhill, is still entertaining crowds in his home in England (forgot the city, sorry). He just turned 104 (remember, this was 2 years ago) and cusses like a sailor. He has lost his earlier splendor and his dull feathers show his age.

Churchill's daughter denies this bird as being her father's, remembering that he once had an African grey parrot but never a macaw.
