The calm, sweet little girl that she is....
is afraid of any new toys. I have to buy her small toys, no larger then her head because she is deathly afraid of them. Emma wont chew wood, unless its very soft pine, in very dainty pieces from a small toy company I get from called Parrot Treasures. I have tried everything, she is just afraid.
I have been introducing Grey Feather Toys to her little by little. The Owner of Bird Paradise was surprised to see my buying such small toys!! She asked what It was for, and I told her my grey....she thought I was kidding.


Well I got one, just a bit bigger then Emma's head....she didnt want it anywhere near her, no less, in her house! I put it in and she coward FAR away from it at first. Hours later, I saw her go over to hit it, as to tell it to leave her house. I went in later that day to change the water in the cages, and I looked to find the toy 100% completely destroyed.
she looked so happy...and fullfilled. She was so occupied with killing the intruder, she forgot to eat all day. Then, mom, (being me) felt guilty the little girl was "empty" I made her dinner, consisting of all her favorite foods....
(and that being ANY food )
So the toy lasted less then 8 hours. George even had to come and see for himself....because she has never destroyed anything.
next time I think I'll just hand her a $20!

That Miss Emma is a real character, Lisa! Sounds like she had a great day; massive, complete anhilation of alien intruder followed by an awesome dinner. What's for dessert <burp>?

My Libby is like that. When I get "anything" new for her or her cage. I first have to put it near the cage then after a day or two, on her cage. The third day I put it in her cage and she is usualy o.k. with it by then.

Yay Emma!! Hopefully this may start her on the road to some bigger toys. I know of a place in Florida called Stuff for Birds. They have some great toys and also use a pine for their toys. You may try them for some more toys for Miss Emma.

She is definitly the rule breaker with the ones who say greys are one person people.

I do have to see if Grey feather makes replacement parts for her toy. and Clara thanks for the info. If she gets more brave, I'll let ya know!

Have you seen the SS spiral we have from Grey Feather where you can make your own toy? I think you should get that next for Miss Emma!
