O.K. Jim

I think we need an area on BB for art.
What do you think?

Love that pic of Eenie on reentry! And the macaw pic is gorgeous :-). What does "usm" mean?

I only have PSP 5. Which effects were you able to do using that program? I'd love to have Photoshop, but it's even more expensive nowadays....

Ah hem....
I would like to point out that just because I haven't posted anything but hand drawn works, it doesn't mean that sketching's my only talent.
I'm sorry Granny, I did mention to ya I do the same thing you do.
BTW, I don't do wars.

Corel bought the rights to Fractal's Painter. Does the newer Corel allow ya to paint with fire?
I use multiple programs because one has capabilities that the other 2 don't. For example, in FDP5, ya can paint with fires & glows which ya can't in APS5 & PSP5.
As mentioned before, my programs are older. I'm gonna have to break down & do a massive upgrade soon in both hardware & software. (It's almost sickening to me to think that one program will cost more than the new computer. )

Me second that!! I'm sure Andrew would agree too.

LOL
Now that the replies to Granny are outta the way, I can answer the others...

Thanks Irish, I'm glad ya like it.
USM = Un Sharp Mask. (I know what yer thinkin & I totally agree with ya, it's a really dumb name for a sharpening tool!) I prefer using USM to the regular sharpen effect.
Adobe & PSP are fairly close. I use PSP because the version I have apply some of it's effects "softer" than my Adobe does, but then Adobe has abilities PSP doesn't.

Yes. {As a mater of fact, I grabbed the shot of Chaska (Quaker) when ya posted it before.}
Haven't decided what I'm gonna do to them yet.

Sure!!!No prob.

It may take a bit to get to them though. My daughter is home today from camping and my time is hers.

I've been doing photoediting & SFX ever since my first computer (a P120). I've done lots of photo retouching for relatives, friends, etc. Scanning old photos, then repairing rips, tears, water damage etc..

I love doing the subtle stuff, like the 2 I've included with this post.
In the first shot, LA (SparrowHawk) was in a great position, but the deadpan look on her face kinda ruined the shot. So I decided I was going to change that, even if I had to "paint" a smile on her face.
I didn't want to make it a big grin, just a little "I'm just content to be here huggin my Bouv" smile.

Adobe Photoshop 5. (over $1000) Most expensive at the time, but THE BEST PHOTO EDITOR, bar none.
Wow, this is what I have but I got it free from a friend. I don't even know how to use 1/2 the stuff it has. But what I do know how to use, is great!

I have done this as a professional for years.

My version of Corel is older as well. Can't afford an upgrade right now. But I can do everything with it the one I have.

I think we need a spot on BB just for artistic members.

Won't be able to do anymore till tomorrow. I have all four of my grandkids over night.
