Some observations and a question.
I've had my GCC for about a day and a half, and she's (just assuming "she") coming along nicely. I've walked with her around the house, spending a little time in each room so she can get acquainted with the place. She is either on my hand or my shoulder, and Chico (the tiel) is on the other shoulder so she's not alone in the adventure.
She was so quiet yesterday after I brought her home, but today she's peeped a few times, and I think she was calling for some company at one point! I've had her with Chico since she's come home, and today I put Chico on her playground in the living room and Rico was on the top of her cage on the playground, on the other side of the door so they couldn't see one another. She started calling and calling, and she was fine after I put Chico back there, so I guess she was lonely. Chico doesn't act the same way, probably because Chico is accostomed to having me and no other birds, and since I'm still there she's ok with that. Rico on the other hand is used to having all the birds from the store.
Rico is very sweet, Chico is a bit of a snot, so it will be interesting to see how their relationship develops.
Question:
Once they have formed a bond, will they groom one another?
They don't fight, but they just don't have anything to do with each other. It's only been one day since I brought Rico home, but I do hope that they will become friends. Anybody have any experience with tiels and green cheeks together?
