Talking He's back!!!

Sunny started talking again for the first time in two LONG months!!! After the October fires here in California, he started acting really weird, traumatized really. He stopped talking to the day the fires began and screamed for two weeks straight. He seemed sick, sleeping a lot, not playing anymore, and just sitting still in a daze. We called the vet but they said just to keep an eye on him that it was due to stress from the fires. We had only had him for two months before the fires, but he already had developed quite the vocabulary and entertained us with his sweet Elmo voice chattering and mumbling all day. It was so sad when it suddenly stopped. These two months went by very slowly, he seemed like a different bird. After a month he started acting better, but still no talking.
Then yesterday, it happened...
I was in the other room and all of a sudden I hear "hiiii! uh oh! peekaboo! boink! boink! boink! good boy!" and then barking like our poodle. He did it again today, just like he used to, mumbling and chattering to himself just like old times. I missed him so much and am so glad to have him back to normal now. I can't explain the joy in hearing that sweet voice again.

Thats great, you wish they would just be quite sometimes like we did with our grey but then when we lost him we sure did miss the shouting and talking.

Thank you! He hasn't talked in the past couple of days, but at least now I know he still remembers how! And I know there's hope of him coming back to normal sometime soon. I'm hoping he'll get better since I have a couple weeks off now for Christmas. Weird thing is though, that since then he hasn't touched any of his toys. He just ignores them, even when I get him a new one or try to get him to play. He used to play a lot... Any suggestions?
This is him playing around right before the fires.
