Help me name my new bird.

I was given a beautiful blue budgie yesterday for free. I am open to suggestions on what to name her. I forgot to ask the previous owner if she had a name.

So, call and ask.
Otherwise, wait to see what his personality is like and name him appropriatly.

I see you are new to BB.
Glad you joined. You're gonna love it here.

I think a name that can touch you, or applies to what's happening or the personality or some connection to the bird or you, is really cool. Did anyone understand that!

We gave Laker his name for some not too 'clear' reasons on my part - it was an evolution. The Shelter's Ad actually called him Lark. When I called I asked his name & they said Laker. I thought about it, and as I had to drive to Burlington to get him I did see us both as neighbours off of Lake Ontario. Then my son liked it - anything to get him to warm up to the fact we were getting a 'budgie' *embarrassed* & give the little guy a real guy name.

Maybe your close friends/family can help - some of my fav names were suggestions from my brothers.
Anyway - they'll get to see her/him - can we?

I have heard back from the previous owner. The name that she gave her is....Artemis. I have decided to call her Missy for short.

So sweet - I love it!
You'd probably call her that anyways - so now she has a chance at knowing who you're talking too.
Hi Missy!

Thank you. I think it's a little better than Artemis. Yesterday, she met my male tiel. He wasn't quite sure about her, but she followed him around.

It will be fun to hear her story. There are quite a few people here with male budgies. The females are kind of wall-flowers. I know Laker would be in heaven if I showed up with a girl budgie.
