For the Cockatoo Lovers!!

We just got back from a week holiday last week!! Left Queensland and went to visit Grandparents on an Island just off the South Australian Coast, and then drove back through Victoria to visit Mum before flying back to Queensland. While we were on Kangaroo Island I made everyone go to a Wildlife Sanctuary to see the birds, and I got some cool photos you guys might like. For the Cocaktoo lovers - have you ever seen one like this??? It's a Glossy Red Tailed Black Cockatoo. These birds are a relative of the Australian (mainland) Red Tailed Black Cockatoo and they are now extremely rare (this guy wasn't actually part of the Wildlife Sanctuary, he was just happily sitting in a tree as I walked past!!! ) The Red guy in he other photo is an Australian King Parrot, with a Red Shouldered Parrot. And there's a cheeking looking Galah which again was just sitting in a tree I walked past (not part of the Sanctuary birds). Can anyone guess what all those white dots are with the sheep in the last photo? That's a flock of wild Cockatoos on a hill in my home town in Victoria (that's actually only a SMALL flock - that's why farmers hate them out here, because a flock like that can destroy a crop in no time at all - imagine what a large flock could do to a farmer crops )....

Hope you enjoy guys - I did!!!!

GORGEOUS PICS! Wow - that must be something to view. And here I get all excited when I visit Florida and see Quakers flying around wild.

WOW - Absolutely Fantastic! You must have had an unbelievable day - thanks for sharing.

It would be tough to be a farmer - what a dilemma.
Toos are so destructive in captivity - are they the same in the wild or do they eat what they destroy?
What do the farmers do? Use rifle fire?
