Bufons and another Hy...

A few more drawings from this week- I have been away from the 'net for a few days-

1) Bufons Macaw closeup--

About 7 x 9. Graphite on Illustration board.

and, another Hy- I love drawing them, so much personality-

This one is a little more detailed than the past drawings, plus I did a human hand- something I like to avoid! I am not good at drawing people.

Hopefully, someone on the board will recognize thier birds here :)

As usual, the scans are too light. I think that the scanner that I have access to at the moment is in kind of bad shape, I will rescan them when I get home for more detail.

As always, comments and critisizms are welcome.

Bufons Macaw - is fantastic! I love the way you did the feather details - Oh the hours of work!
The Hyacinth is great too & the hand drawing is very natural looking - it doesn't compete at all with the bird but is a nice balance.

The work on both beaks is perfect; very believable & dramatic.
Thanks - Really liked both - well done.

Both are excellent!!!!

(No worries Andrew. Despite whatever concerns you may have had, the hand turned out really, really, well. )

I think that you know the hand, too!

There is another one ALMOST done, Which I am excited about... I 'kicked it up a notch' on the next one- More detail... Hopefully it'll be done in the next day or so.

I'll be off my ship here in a few more days, then it's back to sunny Florida... I hope the birds remember me :)
