Abaca Rope/Get a Grip

Anybody out there puchase one of those "Get a Grip" abaca rope play things. Sitting here trying to decide if I should pull the trigger & purchase one of those. If you have one do your birdies like it??

Just biding my time as I wait for another Max play gym getting delivered today.. Where the heck is UPS... tap..tap...tap...

I have one--the largest size, for the largest parrots. I was lucky to get a discount on it, so I couldn't pass it up :-). However, that said, I haven't put the thing up, yet, as it's too big for the house. I'm waiting 'til Z gets 'round to putting up an outdoor aviary. Judging from the way the Goon Platoon likes to crawl all over things, and their boundless curiosity, I think they'll go ape s**t over it once they have access to it!

Thanks Irish!

I'm off to pull the trigger.. I'm trying to put together a play corner for Max. Not that the little stinker doesn't have enough play areas just doing a second one in another room. My home is becoming an Indoor Aviary I think he has more square footage than I do

Now where the heck is UPS... I am sooo bored of waiting right now.

I was thinking about making one, but wonder where to buy the rope. I have done some macrame in the past and am pretty creative. I am wondering if it will save some $.

It will save a huge amount of money!

I made a 6 foot by 8 foot monster using 1.25 inch manila rope and it cost me well under $100 plus I have almost enough rope left to make another of the same size.

Got mine from an eBay vendor after much back and forth about whether it was treated with anything or not.

All my guys absolutely love their cargo net! You can see it if you go in to the DIY section and look for my post titled "A work in progress".

I got the largest one for my birds - matter of fact, I have two of them, and I could not have made a better investment. My macaw, Yankee, stays on it above her cage all day. She absolutely loves it. All of the other birds play on it at times. The other I have hung in their aviary outside. In the winter, I will hang that one above one of the other cages.
