WCPs & foot troubles

We went down to look at at those WCP's again.
They've been moved to a large cage out on the floor beside the BFA's cage.

I noticed that one of them has developed a twist in it's right foot.
It's the one that's at the back in the pics I posted in my
Dangerous territory- Revisited! thread.
I thought when we had a chance to see them the first time that bird wasn't spreading the claws on that foot properly, but I had hoped it would improve over time. Unfortunately, seems the opposite is true and the twist has gotten worse.
It stays away from the other 2 on a separate perch on the opposite side of the cage. Other than that, it's compensating for the deformity very well. It's rather aloof and seemed more interested in the BFA in the next cage.
When it did come out, it tried it's best to stay away from our daughter. Every time she got close, the Pi would try to fly away.

The one with the most peach color in it's cap has developed a very, very slight foot problem too. . The claw on the outermost toe of it's right foot is somewhat stunted and has a 90 degree turn to the left. It doesn't seem to be affecting the bird at all though. For some reason, it was very reluctant to come out of the cage today. When I finally did get to step up it, squawked as soon as I took it out of the cage. It did NOT want to be handled by Lori-Anne either. It spread it's wings & nipped at her fingers when she tried to touch it. It jumped over her hand, flapped it's way back into the cage and climbed to the highest perch at the back.

Contrary to what I thought earlier, the one on the left in that pic is actually the youngest of the three.
It was snoozing when we got there, huddled on a perch beside is peach cap buddy. It woke up pretty quick when it realized it was feeding time.

Once it was awake & it's belly was full, oh boy did it ever want to see us!! It flapped & squawked on the perch beside the door & licked at my fingers whenever I put them up to the bars.
When the feedings were over for all the birds, they opened the Pi's cage to let us see them. The young one tried to climb out to see us. It walked along my arm to the elbow then back to my hand looking at me and making crackles & small squeaks. I brought it up to my face and it closed it's eyes & nubbed itself against my brow between my eyes; from the middle of it's beak to the top it's head.

Unlike the other 2, this bird eagerly investigated Lori-Anne. It stepped up to her hand as soon as she offered. It moved down to her wrist, then confidenty walked up her shirt & sat on her shoulder to play with her hair with it's eyes closed, clickin & grinding in her ear.

This bird wasn't done yet. The visit wouldn't be complete without it climbing into the crook of my wife's arm and snugglin in. After enjoying LA's shoulder for a few minutes, it started looking around & calling. When Judy stepped from around the other side of the BFA's cage, it started flapping and calling louder. Judy walked over & the bird jumped to her hand. Without hesitation, it walked up her arm to seat itself at her elbow & softly called to her.

This just might be "the one".

Met the future owner of one of the BFG's once they're fully weaned (the more sedate one). It seems to enjoy her company quite well.
She may just find her way here, as I did tell her about the board.

Went to do the weekly water changes on the tanks & realized we forgot to get water conditioner yesterday.....
SOoooooooooooo
we had to go back to that Big Al's today.
Took the cam with me....

Here's that Pi with the twisted foot.
((Notice the difference in color of the 2 feet? Makes me wonder if it was some kind of blood supply problem that might have caused or at least been part of what caused the twist.))

Here's a bunch of it climbing around on Lori-Anne.
It obviously likes her.

I cannot imagine why you haven't scooped this little cutie up already. When a bird gives its heart, you have to act on it. Otherwise, he could fall into the wrong hands. Set up the cage and go get your bird.
