Parrolets and Lovebirds

I have done a lot of research on getting a smaller parrot. I was hoping you could give me some advise. I am finding a lot of conflicting info about Lovebirds.

I am single, and live in a smaller apartment. I have a good sized cage. I am hoping to get a bird that is playful, fun, maybe talks, whistles, and/or sings, that is relatively quiet, etc. I work long hours, but do feel I can devote time each time to my bird.

What do you think? Parrotlet or Lovebird

Thanks in advance!

I apologize for posting twice. My computer is acting up and it didn't appear that my first post was visible. Sorry

Thanks

I don't have much experience with either of the 2 birds that you question. But, I do know that if you're looking for a bird that "possibly" talks, whistles &/or sings, chances are...... it's NOT going to be relatively quiet. JMHO

We don't have any parrotlets, but we do have two Lovebirds- and they are probably the LOUDEST birds in the house! Sure, the Macaw CAN be louder- But the lovebirds are constant, and higher pitched...

Lovebirds are noisier than Parrotlets, but Parrotlets are nippier than lovebirds. It's give and take. Both are very strong personalities, big parrot disguised in a little body. A single lovebird is quieter than a pair. Both are great little parrots. Generally speaking, you can find lovebirds less expensive than parrotlets. My suggestion; find some breeders, meet the birds and spend time with each of them, then decide.

Talking

I have had both. I LOVE my Parrotlet. They are so much fun. SO cute and sweet. Very playful. My little girl is SOOO quiet and loves to cuddle. She only gets "loud" when I am preparing her meals! When she gets sleepy and wants to go to bed, she chirps. Nothing loud though.

When I hear other birds at stores etc. I think my Parrotlet is almost silent next to them. I like to have a quiet home. I do not like noise, but I love ,my birds and my precious dog.
