One of those days..........

Yesterday and today, I could have done without....
Yesterday I spent the day at the Dr's because I have been sick for a while. Even before the PDD fundraiser, I have been having a hard time breathing, and severe stomach problems. So the Dr prescribed 5 more meds for me, and has suggested I consult 2 specialists about it...so off for more tests I guess....
soooooooooooooo what does this have to do with birds?
Last night after George went to bed, i had Sydney down on the arm of the couch and Sydney kept running up to my face to press his beak into my cheek. Emma was very aggitated with this arrangement, specially cuz she is supposed to be snuggling with me at that time of night...I kept moving Sydney down to where he was not on my shoulder, and after several times of doing this, I noticed blood on his beak. I figured he was pulling feathers again, and went to check his red butt, he squeeeled, and I didnt see anything out of the ordinary. I went to wipe off the blood on his beak with my finger, and part of his beak came off in my hand! He no longer has the tip of his top beak there. It is squared off!
i got it to stop bleeding, and was up all night checking on him. Emma is completely annoid with me now because she wants the attention, and is biting and being b*tchy. Stirling pulled out over 40 feathers in one night,I guess beause we are all stressed.
I am at work now. I made sure he was not bleeding before I left, and have my neighbor stopping in a few times to look on him. George even went home on his lunch to check on him(without me asking him to!! )
I know its nothing serious, but were going to have to resort to hand feeding for the next few days or so.....
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh...the joys of motherhood!

A couple of rough days for sure, Lisa. Poor Sidney, were you able to figure out what happened? Then to have Miss Emma and Stirling freak out on you like that as well! Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way for the upcoming tests. You take care of yourself, you hear?

Hi Lisa,

Sorry to read you haven't been feeling well. Sending well wishes your way and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a quick and full recovery.

Give Sydney some extra skritches and tell him I hope his little beak feels better real soon - OOPS better give Emma some extra skritches from me too, I don't want to agitate her any further! That was so thoughtful of George to look in on Sydney for you - what a good guy - but hey you deserve nothing but the best!

Sounds like a little bird war you may have not been privvy to. This too shall pass. I think everything is fine. Hope things improve immediately, especially your health. Its hard to function when you're sick.

Sorry things are so down ...
This moving thing must be stressful - try & do some fun things for yourselves - order out or buy roses or cognac or something ....
I think I mean - you need a wee holiday.
Hope the Dr's find nothing & you're better before lunch tomorrow!
