Gini,

How many birdie breads are in each bag? Is this product appropriate for a parrotlet, a mutation Pacific? (There is much research that pellets are not good for them..I am sure you aren't stuffing pellets inside..but you could be I guess. And there might be other reasons that these wouldn't quite be right for a parrotlet.) Can you recommend a flavor? How do you store it, care, serve the product?

Thanks and best of luck to you in your new business. Wonderful

If anyone is interested, I am having a Holiday Special of 3 DOZEN Cones for $25 plus $6 shipping

You can mix and match Veggie, Beanie or Hot Pepper anyway you like. If you want to pay by cc-I have Paypal on Ebay (until we get the website set up) otherwise, I will be happy to accept a MO mailed directly to me, as usual.

Of course, you can also order single bags for $6.99 plus $6 S&H; 1-3 bags (which is really shipping Priority mail plus tracking). Shipping goes to $9 for Flat Rate USPS shipping for 4-20 bags. Any questions, email me!

Quite a few of you have ordered now so I'm looking for the pictures of those FIDs munching down on BIRDIEBREAD to put on the website!
Gini, mom goes home today. Will have time now.

In a bag, there are usually 8 cones or muffins, depending on which you prefer. There are NO pellets in BIRDIEBREAD. My parrotlet customers and some of the show parrolets seem to prefer either veggie or beanie. Unless you know that they like hot peppers, like my 1 cockatiel, I would try one or both of the others. For my tiels, I either clip a cone to the side of the cage, balanced by a perch or put a mini-muffin in a treat dish, when they get done, they tear up the paper. I recently bought a flurescent plexi-glass perch with a "cement" bar that has a little cup attached, just the right size for a BIRDIEBREAD cone.

BIRDIEBREAD can be refrigerated up to 10 days or frozen up to 2-3 months. You should treat them like homemade cookies or muffins. They are fine out for a few days but I like to see them refigerated when you receive them. (In FL, we need to refrigerate everything) This way if they stay in the cage for a day or two, with the smaller birds, there is no problem. With the larger birds, they devour them in 5 mins unless they are frozen. Even with my tiels, there is seldom anything left over by the end of the day-especially Ladybird.

BTW, I can now invoice directly through Paypal which will make it easier many people. Of course, I will still accept Money Orders mailed directly also. I ship within 1 or 2 days of receipt of funds and shipping includes a tracking number. If I can answer anything else, let me know. Thanks for your interest in BIRDIEBREAD-Homemade and Avian Approved! Gini

Sounds good, but I wouldn't be allowed to bring it into Australia-they don't allow fresh food items. Why don't these good cooks like Gini live near me?

That's unfortunate I have no problem sending to Belgium, France and Canada so far. I have a friend that just moved to Fiji and I was hoping to send her some when she starts her business there. Several visiting tourists have bought BIRDIEBREAD from the Downtown Market to bring home on the plane with them-I hope they made it. I'll have to check somewhere for international regulations on bakery items/pet treats.

Gini- I got the birdiebread today! Thank you so much! I had Doyle on my shoulder as I was opening the box and he was all over that stuff the second I took it out of the box, lol. He loved it and had a cone for dinner. Danny has been very wary of new food but he ate some too! You are such a sweetheart for sending them some!! I think you've made some customers out Doyle and Danny! Tiffany

I also wanted to tell you that your birdiebread is the first thing Danny has ever eaten out of my hand! I am so proud of him!

Hi- I just got back from visiting my human kids and grandbabies-so much fun! I see the conure has a new name-Danny. I'm glad you did that-I noticed that when I changed Tinkerbell's name from Larrybyrd, she acted like a different bird and responded to her new name right away. Those two little FIDs deserve a better life. I'm glad Doyle jumped right in and I'm sure the other two will be more enthusiastic after they try it. Enjoy and post or email me some pics whenever you get some good ones!
