Bird Books?

I can find lots of information on the internet about birds, which is great, (but scattered and confusing). I'm looking to build a small "bird book library," about everything from avian diseases to building aviaries. My searches on amazon/ebay aren't very helpful, the copyright dates of the books I find range from 2008 to the 1930s and everywhere in between! I would appreciate people posting any bird books you own that you've found helpful about ANYTHING bird.

Also, because I'm a very visual person, it would be great if you could tell whether the books have good color pictures or not. I like books with good pictures.

I so far have purchased one book, "How to care for your pet bird" by Dr. Joel Murphy, and it is very good because the doctor tried hard to communicate to a non-technical ADD person such as myself. However, most pictures are black and white and I have trouble paying attention. This book has great coverage on bird disease.

I recommend "Guide to Companion Parrot Behavior" by Mattie Sue Athan. It is cover-to-cover great information and colorful pictures!

If you're interested in training, I'd suggest "Clicker Training for Birds" by Melinda Johnson.

In general, look for books that were published fairly recently. The theory of bird care has changed a LOT in recent years, and older books are going to have a lot of outmoded advice.
