Please post here (even if you already posted on another thread) and tell us about your birds. I would like to know what kinds of birds are popular over there! I would also like to see how many South Africans we have!

mmm ..being so new to parrots im not really sure what is popular but most people seem to have african greys..although I have come across several people who have had a sun conure and then rehomed it because of the noise level.

It annoys the c%$^p out of me ..... I was given snoopy , also from someone who couldnt cope he was only 4 months old and Id always wanted a parrot..so first I researched and researched and then decided I will try it ...I knew what I was letting myself in for .

As it turns out snoopy is a sweetie apart from the nipping... he is very very nippy ..but not noisy .... he seldom screams , but chatters non stop.

He also says about 8 words already

He is alovely little guy very loving and affectionate .... I also think he is nippy cos he is moulting ... and of course im trying to break bad habits that he doesnt appreciate like no coffee, no coke, no sweets etc.

I have had the little twerp 2 months now and our relationship is good, a lot has depended on my confidence and as my confidence has grown so he is getting better.

I live in a very poor part of the country where most people dont have dogs let alone parrots ... so......
