Halo gets a Special visitor
Today at 9AM, the store had their AV stop by to check over Halo & the rest of the parrots.
Halo was diagnosed with a minor upper respiratory infection.  The Vet then switched Halo from Tetracycline to Bentyl for the next 7 days and said that should clear it up quickly.  That was the best news I could of heard. Halo was pretty good today. He had a few sneezes - a little damp, but no bubbles. The new meds are a good sign, but it still means it will be a little longer before Halo comes home. We are still trying to get some of the Roudybush™ Rice Diet™, but the only place that has it is almost 50 miles away. I've looked every other brand I can find and they all have at least 2 or more types of corn. All except ZuPreem® AvianMaintenance™ FruitBlend™ Flavor Diet, it only has one type of corn ingredient. OH yes, we also got flavour of Vitakraft™ Fruit & Nut Kracker Sticks™ with no corn. I tried the touch test - so far I've had no reaction to either. (Thank God) Halo seems to enjoy both of them. At least it gives us another option for feeding.

I'm so glad they got the vet in and Halo is on the road to recovery. He is just so sweet looking!

Poor little guy, having to hang out there a while longer. But, it's going to make the homecoming all that much sweeter! Give Halo some extra scritches for me.
Jim, in regards to feed options, perhaps you'll have to resort to ordering on the web? I don't feed anything out of the ordinary, just Zupreem fruit blend, but still have to order it. The nearest pet shops to me are 90 miles away. Even with shipping charges it's cheaper than driving to get food.
