Dangerous Swing WARNING

This evening I came in to find my male lovebird (Don't worry Mary Jane it was not Pete, it was the Opaline Male that you sent me)

Hanging up side down his leg caught. He has no skin on his leg from his feet to his leg joint. I will not post pics as they are way to graphic for most people.

I will say he is in a hospital cage being kept warm and as comfortable as I can while awaiting vet consultation. Last I checked, he was munching down on some seed I put in there. At least he is hungry.

I am attaching the only photo of this swing I could find. What you cannot see in the picture is that the plastic "hook" that hangs on the cage is not attached to the swing part. You must attach that when installing the swing.

Well, the swing part can be removed by a busy birdie as I found out this evening. And it is too bad that I did not have the foresight to see that this could happen.

So this is a warning. I used to really like these swings are they are just lovebird sized.

I hope your baby is ok. That is a very bad thing to come home to. My Parakeet got its toe nail stuck once. I was home but thought I would never get its toe loose. I thought the poor girl was gonna break her leg off. They were not tame at all. I finally did & she was ok but its still a bad situation. Lots of kisses to your baby. Crystal

Well the lovebird was excited to see his water this morning and seemed quite chipper. So hopefully all will be well. :)

It is a plastic swing by prevue hendryx. I will be able to take a picture of the parts and a pic of it hanging in a cage this afternoon when my husband brings the camera home from work.

I wish the Hy was mine! But no, Irish took that photo when I was down in Portland Oregon. It was/is owned by the bird hut. I think someone just purchased it. What a cutie pie it was!

I really enjoy owning my own store most of the time. It is sooo much work though, I have no life other than the store and birdboard! LOL
