Bragging about Ollie
Just a little story to brag about how smart my baby is! We have different names for all of her gyms (her hoop ball is "ball", her big PVC gym in my room is "gym", her hanging bottlebrush gym is "tree", and the hanging boing by her cage is "cage") I never really thought much about her learning the names, because even though when she flies to me and I'm busy (and too lazy to carry her back myself) and I send her flying, not only do I say the name of where I want her to go, but I toss her in that direction as well. Tonight she got me a little excited!
I was sitting in bed studying and Ollie was happily playing on her "gym". I opened a Snickers which of course made her immediately fly to me. After sharing half the candy bar with her (totally kidding!  )....No, but obviously she couldn't have any, and I was pretty comfy in my bed, so I just gave her a little toss and said "ball". Well, I did it too quickly and she didnt have time to get turned around for a direct flight. So she landed across the room on my desk. And here is the good part!: All I had to say was, "Ollie, ball" and when she reached for a pen sitting on my desk and I thought I was going to have to go get her myself, I said "Ollie, wanna squirt?? Ball!" And, away she went! Right to her hoop ball!! I swear- my baby is a genious!
