My babies babies
My first baby lorikeet has been hatched! Its so cute, well you as cute as a featherless few inches can be!! Probably about 2/3 weeks old now. Mum and Dad are happy for me to keep having peeks, though they look over my shoulder the whole time!! saying "OI" "OI"
My first cockatiel for the season has come out of the nest too. Its a beautiful cinnamon with white face and white speckles. Havent had one this colouring before, its really beautiful. And proud to say after day three of training has almost mastered the "step up" command. quite impressed. Havent used "step up" in training before - I like it. pic of baby lori below ( I hope, if I can figure out how to attach!!)

Will do watch this space!! LOL Im really curious to see it happen too. Gotta take some more pics of my beauties this weekend. Have added a few to the clan so need some new pics. I bought a pair of Superb parrots a month ago and OMG what a beautiful bird. They really are "superb" and the most calmest of nature. I really truly hope they breed I will definitely be training and keeping the first born!!
By the way, does anyone know if I should be giving momma lorikeet anything different in her diet whilst she is feeding a young one? She gets fresh fruit each day, dry rearing formula, apricot nectar, corn kernells, greens and sometimes a multi-grain bread mixed with honey and water? Just not sure if she needs anything else?

Bigbird, I checked out your website-love the garden and aviary! I noticed your garden is very drought resistant. Are you having water restrictions down there? It's terrible in Brisbane, going to level 4 next month. Do all your birds live in the outdoor aviary or some indoors?
