Birds rescued in Atlantic Co NJ
hi all!
Just saw in the news that a bunch, and I mean a bunch of birds were rescued by the Atlantic Co SPCA in Egg Harbor Township in NJ. They are looking for people who can adopt groups of these birds. It appears that they are not looking to adopt out one at a time because of the volume of birds. They have keets, tiels and love birds. They were confiscated from a van that belonged to an elderly person who was breeding them. Please contact the ASPC in Egg Harbor Township NJ (609) 926 9325. Thanks all!

the emails I've received said that it was 800 small birds: lovebirds, finches, parakeets, and maybe cockatiels.

I called the night they were being taken out of the van to offer what help I could. I didnt recieve a call back. At the time there was no name of the species. today, I was told they were keets.

The AWA in Voorhees has about 200 budgies. They stopped by the store today and we donated a double flight cage and seed and millet spray. They were very thankful and mentioned that the need tons of stuff. The 4-H club stopped by and took a bunch of toys. I understand that they need the following: seed, toys, perches, full spectrum lighting, millet spray, vitamins, etc. Like I said, this was donated to the AWA in Voorhees, so if anyone is near the SPCA in Atlantic County, they may need a little more than Voorhees. Someone is adopting the finches, lovies and tiels. The budgies are not being offered for adoption until some "random" testing is done. The AWA is going to test about 12 of the 200 birds they have.
