Flight Suit Drama...lol

Well, Baby's flight suit arrived about 2 weeks ago. I have set it near the cage, in the cage, let him have his way with it, and today I decided to try to put it on..............................didn't go well. So we went out without it as usual, and he pooped on me.....as usual

back to square one I reckon....any advice?

Poop Control

Not sure about getting the flight suit on -- I haven't tried Tuki's yet.

Have you tried any poop command training with Baby? It's really the only success I've had with Tuki...
Every single time I see Tuki poop...no matter where he is, I immediately say (in an excited voice) "Tuki Pooped! Good Boy! Did you poop?"

Now, whenever I take him out of the cage I put him on top first and say "Tuki poop!!!" And if there's anything there, he will always poop for me. Especially helpful with the one "biggie" he has everyday!

Yeah, I do the "poopies" thing everyday. I hold him over the sink in the morning for the "BIG ONE!" and then I praise him. But sometimes he won't go over the sink, and after standing there saying "go poopies" for 15 minutes, I figure I'll try in a bit. The minute we leave the kitchen ...splat! Bombs away! It's gotten to the point that whenever and where ever he goes, he looks at me and says "good boy" I've created a POOP MONSTER!

We tried the flight suit again this morning.....I'm not seeing this happening.....LOL For such a little guy, he sure puts up a good fight.

I bought one for Bonita, not a chance. She looks at me like "yeah, try it & die!" I got Romeo to wear his once. I acted like I was playing with his wings & rubbin on him & he didn't even notice till the last strap was going over his wing. He has since caught on to that. Crystal

I've read a lot of posts on this type of training. A lot of people give up because their birds go crazy - even try to kill the thing. If is isn't that bad maybe you can bring his mind around to connecting it with outings? No outoing without the suit + lots of praise. Laker just eats up the praise.
I'd love to use a flight suit but I'm still working on socializing my fid.
Hopefull in the new year we can try.
Hope it works out .... eventually.

She only wants to bite the darn thing. If i try she tries to bite & yes they can bite the crud outta you. I have scars to prove it. The lady at the bread store has a Sun & she said she just put gloves on, held hers down, & forced it on her. I don't want to put my baby through that. I don't want to hurt or scare her. The lady told me, "bring her to me, I'll get it on her" I was thinking, yeah right. Your not touching my baby! Crystal

That's how I feel. I don't want to cause him any kind of trauma, and have him grow up with issues...lol ....I just don't want him to poop on me when we go out...LOL Mainly because it seems to bother other people more than me...lol I'm used to it, and carry Kleenex with me when we go out.....

I think it bothers people for the same reason women get angry when guys go anywhere.....BECAUSE THEY CAN!!! lol I especially love it when people point it out to you that he just went poopies, by just saying "uh oh" or "oops"

I figure if I get the first morning bombshell out of the way, the rest are just little annoying poops....

By the way, your Bonita looks just like my Baby.......sweet little poop machines, aren't they?
