Cleaning Product for Birds

I bought this daily sanitizing spray today & call to make sure it was safe for birds. They said it is 100% safe for all animals, Including birds, children, food surfaces, & people with no wiping. The lady I talked to said she has been using it to clean her teil's cage for the past year with no problems. Just spray it on & let it dry. This is what it says on the bottle: Gentle enough to use around kids, pets, & food. No harsh fumes & no harmful residue. No rinsing necessary. Color-safe. Kill 99.9% of bacteria on hard surfaces. Good for counters, high chairs, pet bowls, plastic cutting boards, etc. Has anyone used this? Any comments?

Sorry, but I don't trust that it's safe for birds. JMHO. Why not use a GSE solution? Just spray, wipe, voila and it's perfectly safe for your fids. And I'm sure you could get away with not wiping it off too.....

It probably is safe. I bought it a couple of months ago and discovered that it is a really really really dilute bleach solution. It has to sit on a surface for two minutes to disinfect as opposed to bleach's 30 seconds.

I haven't used it yet. I've been using soap, water, & vinagar. It works well. Just thought I would get others opinions about the stuff. I'll check the oxy fresh & GSE solution out. Thanks, Crystal

You know...I don't trust anything around here. See I am not only paranoid but *cough*cheap*cough* so a good vinagar solution works great for me.

I am just terrified of buying the wrong thing and ending up killing my loves

I second the Oxyfresh. Wonderful stuff. The gele' when mixed in water does not even have to be rinsed off and can even be used to give a bird a bath.

Cost wise - it is pretty good as it takes a while to use it and I have several cages to clean. :)
