A pictorial- including our "saving Grace"...
Here's a bunch of shots of our Grace, who's saving us from a life without a Pi.
As you can see, Grace is wearing the flightsuit we had originally bought for Halo. She really doesn't like it being put on her, but is getting more & more used to it. The first shot is a close-up of the affected foot. The rest are close-ups of her catching a few ZZZZ.

Here's one from the other side (showing her good foot).
The others are her playing with the toy we bring with us. That second shot, she's stretched up because she's watching one of the staff carrying a ladder into the stockroom behind me.

I do have a couple of question for the other Pi fanatics here......
1) Does any know if the females have a stronger scent than the males? Grace's scent is much more easily noticeable than it is from her 2 brothers. 2) Do most Pi like to rub their beak & nares on their people? Halo used to rub his on me right between my eyebrows & so does Grace. As ya can see, she enjoys getting kisses as well.

What a sweet baby.
I can't say that I would give Nemo back because I love him. But so many of your babies look so loving towards people. I wish I knew better what to look for as I know now. Right away Nemo was flying away from me. That must have been a sign. LOL Joanne :0) |

Camille:
The ornery male was the first out; DOH was June 2, 2006. Grace was just a little later that same day - June 2, 2006. Halo didn't hatch till the next day, June 3, 2006. I have to show you all these.... Here's that little Hahn's playing "Hidabird".... She's so cute! When I walk into the dept. now, she ducks under the newspaper in the bottom of her cage & when I come up and say, "Oh she's gone! Too bad so sad! No little macaw to give these skritches to...". She scampers out and gives a loud squawk that sounds an aweful lot like she's trying to say "Hello! Wanna stepup?"

Here's another set the 'Zon-nite's here should appreciate....
This is Tasha, a YNA owned by the woman who runs the Dog Grooming services at Big Al's here. She's a lovely girl 'Zon that will step-up to just about anyone, but only Mommy can pat or kiss her. She always puts on a display for me & wants to come see me..... I gotta be careful now though.... I found out today that Grace & Tasha don't particularly care for each other. Tasha growls from her perch, stocks back & forth across it and lifts her foot to me in an obvious attempt to get me to lose the other bird. Oddly enough, when Judy had Tasha & I had Grace, Tasha was cool about it, but Grace made a few growls. Then Judy & I swapped. Again Tasha was cool about it, but Grace was growling.... Tasha's visits ended as soon as Judy tranferred Grace to Tasha's mommy..... Owwwwww a loud growl Tasha & a funny little chuckle like sound from Grace.
