Our FIDs When We're Ill

I just got over a rather unpleasant seasonal sinus infection from hell, and for the past two days Bella was quieter than normal while I made attempts to recover. A three hour day in SAMS while I wait for them to put my donut on my car....I ran over an L-shaped piece of metal that put three nails into my tire...I'm waiting for them to come in at $90 a piece. Still Bella was quiet and more so yesterday when I faced the brunt of it. She chatted with me a little bit, but her interest was in cuddling with her mom. She jumped off her cage and waddled over to be with me in bed. She's generally content to hang out up there to watch tv and babble.

So instead I had help in getting in the mood for a helpful nap with a little TAG having her little body pressed against my neck while she took a nap. Don't worry she was put in her cage as I drifted off. She was instant on cuddling like this again before I went to bed. Instead of being laid out for another day with horrid conditions I felt great today and my mood was just as good. While I'm not 100% Bella is back to her normal old self. We had our conversation with her in babble speak, and I'm still the only one at a privy to this.

Has anyone else have their FIDs get a bit more cuddly or respectful of noise while being sick?

Absolutely. They seem to know when we need the rest.

I'm glad you're feeling better.

That is so sweet! I am glad you are feeling better. We haven't had Doyle long enough to know how he acts when we're sick.

Ollie definitely knows when I'm not feeling well. I've been down for the count for the past 2 weeks and Ollie has been sweet as pie. Gotta love em!

I am about to find out...
Spinal surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30. Hopefully home in 2 or 3 days.
With everything to worry about, I have to add Tuki to the list. It may be a while before I can handle him properly and I HATE it.

Glad you're feeling better Bekfreak!

Not that I've noticed, although they're usually only REALLY noisy once/day in the evening. They tend to be more cuddly if I go away for a day or 2, but they don't seem to notice much, or care, if I'm ill. Could be, tho', that I just don't notice their compassion when I'm feeling like crap! LOL!

Aargh- I have sinusitis right now.. just got back from the doctor. My birds have been quiet too lately. This afternoon I came home and took a nap on the couch. My little Hahns climbed down from his cage, crossed the room, climbed up the couch and snuggled on my shoulder. Yep, those little guys are quite perceptive. I'm sure he's expecting some good treats when I'm better though!!

Bella got spoiled today when it came to food! She had some of her pomagranate and she loves that especially when I feed her the seeds, two grapes, she tried a piece of shrimp and like all new things wasn't too sure of it, had a roasted sweet pepper, and I was bad I gave her two cherrished wheat thins.

Next time I goto SAMS I'll get her one of the BIIIIIG Papayas. Well a Papaya for the two of us.
