Unhappy Ugh, another bad pet store.

So I took my birds to a pet store today to get their wings clipped, and I was not impressed with the store. They are small, and have a room where they keep the birds and the puppies. Well, in one cage, their were 4 puppies. And then the parakeets were like 10 to a small cage, and no toys. And they had 2 'Toos, and they were in small cages, and they also had no toys. The one 'Toos cage was dirty, but the woman was cleaning the room when we got there, so it may be she just hadn't gotten to it yet.

I feel so bad for these animals. Aren't there any laws on how a pet store should keep their animals? Is their anyone at all out there who regulates these palces and cares about the animals? I just wish people would be more concerned about the animals, and less concerned about saving and making money.

I know what you mean.

I went in to apply for a position that was advertised in a pet store near me. I had never been in this store before so I went down thinking that this could be good.

I got there and I was disgusted. It was a tiny pokey little store that was jam packed full of stuff with only 2 skinny little walkways, the place was dirty and stinky, not nice.

There was 2 cages, 1 with about 6 kittens in it that maybe measured about 1mx1m and a second cage that measured roughtly the same maybe a little more with 2 golden labradors in it.

The birds were all in a seperate room, quite small, with about maybe 15 or so budgies packed into one of those little breeding cages with one little ferris wheel plastic perch toy.

The finches were kept in the same style cage and there would had to have been a good 20 - 25 finches in it.

And in the same style cage was a single Indian Ringneck which had to hunch over in order to perch.

The place was a cesspool.

As soon as I had had a look around I was straight out of there. I did not say to them who I was, I did not continue my application, I did not even speek to them. I was so put off by the whole scene.

I have not been there since.
