Wheatgrass or Pontytail palm?

This morning on a kids "pet" show they had cockatiels eating Ponytail Palm and wheatgrass.

My question is this....do any of you have plants in your house that you encourage your birds to eat? I see wheatgrass around for health, but haven't tried giving any of it to Bindy. Also, if I bought a Palm plant from a shop, I wouldn't trust it being good for bindy (maybe they sprayed it, etc.)

What do you think? And, if your birds do enjoy eating any plants, what do they enjoy? Other than the obvious veggies :)

Wheatgrass is fine, though not sure about the palm... I guess it would be safe as there are people who use palm fronds for nesting material. I dont have any inside house plants (okay, so well really they are not owned by me, and they usually die...) though Noel and Casey do enjoy chewing on the apple tree we have outside! Especially when there is fruit or flowers!

Wheat grass is good as long as it is organic. I would be hesitant with house plants bought in a store or a greenhouse. The fertilizer and pesticides they use could be very dangerous.

I grow my own little pot of millet and other various seeds that I planted from my bird's food and then I bring the pot in every once in a while for a birdie free for all.

My budgie loves wheatgrass. I buy it at the health food store and cut a bit everyday. I put the blades in his water and he nibbles on it throughout the day. :D
