What a Birdy Day
I got home a bit late last night so slept in a bit late this morning. I was slightly aroused with the flapping of wings and a bird (no doubt Casey) landing on my shoulder, as I lay on my back. She was coming over for lovins and wanted some headscritches. I awoke enough to scratch her head for a bit, but was just too tired to do much more so I put my hands back down on the bed. She wasn't satisfied so she went 'huntin' for my hands to beg them for more headscritches. She kept putting her head down and 'pecking' at my fingers. Well, I didn't feel like being bothered so much so I hid my hands. Frustrated, Casey came up to my face and started pecking between my nose and chin area to demand for more headscritches! I ended up having to try and hide my face, too!
I ended up having to slowly turn onto my side to get her to stop pestering me and let me get in a bit more sleep before fully awakening. I was able to get in a few more naps as she kept waking me up so she got more headscritches. Noel started to squawk, and I noticed Noel's little "k k k" noise as well, but Noel was too busy squawking for me to get up to be making those little sounds... I aroused long enough to peer around my room and notice Clyde on top of my 10" TV making the noises, as expected. No doubt he was calling out for Casey to go see him as he tries his best to follow her around the room without coming in contact with me or Noel. As I started to awaken more from Noel's squawking, I watched as Clyde hopped back to his cage (next to the stackable shelf that holds the TV) and to repeat the "k k k" noise. Noel squawked louder and Clyde started to add in his own tiel sounds to the "k k k". Meanwhile, Casey's sitting on my chest looking at me and waiting for headscritches. I give her some more then my mother walks in to ask me to try on something that she is crocheting. Casey hopped onto her hand, then went and sat on my mothers back. My mother wanted to give Casey some scritches but she didn't really care for any from her at the moment. I took her back, and after my mother left the room, I got up and quieted down Noel, and made sure everybirdy was happy.

Gotta be more quiet and calm than my 3 kiddos...hehe. Oh boy...I just realized when our new addition comes he/she will be in our bedroom during quarantine time...hehe. Our budgies are downstairs so I don't hear them. I'm in for a rude awakening for about 45 days, huh? LOL.

Sure sounds like it! I'm sure that you'll get use to it over time by being awakened in the moring! Unless you were to cover the cage and wake the bird up when you get up... that would be a difference, though with my birds, it's impossible as Noel and Casey don't live in a cage (I'd have to cover their area with a dark curtain that would be 9' long and 7' tall, I believe!) and the cages with blankets!

That might work...when hubby's not home, I guess. He gets up with a blaring alarm that usually goes off for at least 10 minutes before either of us even move. Our kids are immune...lol. Even the one that sleeps in the crib beside us. Don't think the bird will be. We used to have a pomeranian that would get on us and howl like she was dying about 2 minutes before the alarm went off, the bird will probably be like that when it goes off. Can't blame em though...I hate the sound of the thing too...lol.
