Do Birds Shake When Their Cold?

Do their bodies shake / shiver like other animals do when they cold? I do know they fluff up when they were cold but was courious about the other. Thanks, Crystal

sometimes after shadow takes a bath i feel him shaking a little bit like hes cold... i always turn up the heat and cuddle him till he dries off and the shaking stops..

so i would say that i dont know for sure, but yes crystal, i believe they do

Ok. I seen Romeo do it earlier. Its about 75 deg in here. I haven't turned on the heat yet cause its not cold enough outside. Is that to cold for fids? Someone told me they thought that was about right. Crystal

75 degrees isn't normally too cold for birds, but if he's used to a much warmer and the temp suddenly dropped to 75 it might feel chilly, just as it would with humans.

Birds may also shake or quiver when they're nervous, excited, putting on a mating display, or getting ready to fly. But shaking can also be a sign of a sick bird, so pay careful attention if you have any reason to suspect the bird might be ill.

I've been watching him. It could of been he got excited cause I started talking to him. I haven't seen him do it since. I try to keep it between 75 & 80 in here. I get cold easy & so do my dogs, my roommates hate it cause their always hot. lol Crystal

Healthy birds are perfectly fine with temps not less than 65 and not higher than 90. I keep my house between 68 and 70 degrees.

hey, come to colorado, crystal - seems like you'd love it here we're looking at 20-30 F(!) at night currently.
i've been keeping my house at 65 the lowest, and generally around 70 and valo seems to be fine. can't wait for the heating bill though but with valo and the fish i can't mess with the temperature at all - the fish are probably even more sensitive to that!
