Unfortunately, I didn't get to see Carol and Doug(ass)..... they were busy helping her parents for the day!!! It would've been nice to see them!!

Seeing Kathie is always is always a good time! Even is she is really busy running around like a chicken with her head cut off!!!

The store expansion was a greyt move! Better check out space now and easier to see shelf product at the bottom of the ramp. I assume all java perches will go down also?

You all did an awesome job though. But I think you know, Im a big fan, love all you girlies : )

Any BB people get the BIG DADDY Java stand red ticket item?

I wonder if I won any of that little stuff. Bella liked the door prize I got her. The gumball machine thingie for her stand. But the expansion room was really nice, and there was lots of room for the boreders that come in too. I wonder if you went to say hi to Sunny the M2.

I'm just getting on after a long day and recovering for the night.
I dont think my feet ever hurt so much! I need better sneakers!
First and formost I have to say thanks to everyone at Bird Paraside for offering the public the chance to have lectures and educational seminars!
The store, the owners and the employees go above and beyond to do whats right for our birds, and thier owners!
I really have very little to do with this as I was really Irene's helper for the day. I am usually more involved, but BP let me slack a bit because of moving....THO...thier clients must think I work there. I cant even tell you how many people I had to tell I wasnt an employee, just a volunteer because they approached me because they have seen me there for alot of thier events.

Meeting everyone was wonderful!
The members there were............
Lisa B
Calvins Mom
Greyburd
Bekfreak
Hogansmom
Luvmygrey and hubby Jeff
leighrivera161
ejw829
MrRick
Mammabird
Camelotcrazee..ps..HI Cassie!
(please add if there were others...I am still a bit fuzzy!)

I also had friends from other sites, and long time friends from my club years in attendance.

Everyone was very friendly, and happy to see eachother. I couldnt have asked for a nicer day!

The Vets that were there..........
Dr Cyndi Brown and Dr Anthony Pilney
Dr Brown is my current vet, and Dr Pilney was part of Sampson Bell's team and the Animal Medical Center in NYC

The other speaker Nikki is an author and has 18 books published. Her grey Hope, who was renamed Rocky by Tony Danza was also there. I have had dealings with her through Parrots at Play, but did not meet her untill yesterday. She was a very nice woman, and Hope is a very well adjusted calm grey!

I personally dont remember the place ever being so crowded............and I dont think they coulda fit anyone else in.... ...but thats a good thing, because it shows the loyalty of the clients, and the word of the seminars getting out there!

I had a fun day with everyone and got to bond with Don "a bit"...or is that "a Butt?"

I am thrilled that Danielle and Jeff came out from Long Island to spend the day with us. Another very nice point was to be able to talk with Leigh a bit, because I know that she is also involved with the fundraisers behind the scenes.

To show how just one person can make a difference, I want to share, that Leigh, had her own little fundrising Idea for Dr Ritchie and Dr Pepperberg.
Leigh did a bake sale, and the money raised was given to Dr Ritchie in June and Dr Pepperberg in October. I knew of this in June, but didnt get the chance to talk to her. This time around I made sure I did!
We can all take a lesson from her hard work, and wonderful idea. Leigh, thank you! You made a difference!!!!

Trisha, thank you for the picture....you have given me a thought to start a scrap book. I have made many friends in the bird world, and thier little babies are very loved by me as well. I would like to have memories of them to look back on.

Eliza came out to meet us despite being down with a cold all week....she was feeling better and wanted to come join us...it was GREAT to see you again!!!!
She even parked herself(sorry ~e~ couldnt pass that up!)

Ok, so picture this........ Don was working the big bird room....Kathie kept us on a strict schedule! Don, sported his "staff shirt" and kept all the wondering hands off the babies!! He did a good job..tho....... I did try to fire him most of the day. Leigh was in charge of minding the loose finch. Kathie...who's Kathie? ohhhhhhhhh...the lady running round like the chicken with her head chopped off!

so we all had a great day, a long day, but well worth it.

Afterwards Irene and I went out to dinner. George met up with us, as well as another set of our friends. We all couldnt wait to unwind and have a glass of wine. We were gunna hog tie Don and steal him, but we knew he had a long drive home.

If you ever have the chance to get out an meet members of the board, you should make every effort to do so....there are some very kind people on here that I am very glad to have been able to meet.

OK...now onto those Prizes!!!!!
Don, did ya win me the light?

pictures to follow once downloaded!

I'm sure Kathie is exhausted today. I went to look for her before I left to say goodnite, but I didn't see her.

I'll have to take a picture of Bella with her Barrel of Fun. What a great little toy for her.
