Bonita Finally Got On Her Play Gym!

I got it a week ago when I went to meet one of the members on here Tiger2. Well, Bonita wouldn't go near it. She was scared to death of it. Well, after hanging one of her favorite toys (a ball w/ a bell inside) she finally today got on it & loved it. I took photo's but only one come out so far cause she kept doing her head bobbing thing cause she was so excited. Her head is kinda fuzzy in this photo but its the best I can do for now. Crystal

Yay! Good job, Bonita! I have a stand very similar to that which Ava still isn't too fond of! My lovies like it, at least (even though it's huge for them)!

That looks like a pretty cool stand. Just from my experience with Manzanita wood.... you might want to wrap something around it to give her better footing. I use vet wrap. I use it on both of their playstands. It comes in all types of fun colors, too!!!

Thanks. She was on my shoulder & I kept playing with the ball, she got so mad cause I told her if she wanted it, she had to go get it. She finally couldn't take it anymore & jumped on. Then she took it out on the ball for not coming to her. lol The wood is kinda slippery. 2 of the perches are not. I was thinking about trying to get some ruff sand paper & sand a little but I may do the vet wrap. Not sure yet. Crystal

Great job Bonita! You go girl

It took my ekkie 3 weeks to not be afraid of her play stand (I have a big manzanita tree one as well). I, unfortunately, went about introducing it to her the wrong way at first. I had her on my hand and set her on it. She kept flying off and I kept putting her back on it. I should have just let he figure it out herself! Now she perches on it here and there but mainly likes to play on top of her cage

One of the rare moments she was actually on her stand...

I tried the same thing. Boy did she freak. Then I just kept petting it, & playing with the branches, to let her know it wasn't gonna hurt her. She would get close but never on it until she just couldn't take me playing with ball & not her. lol Crystal
