I'm Getting A New Baby!

There's a post on here about Nalah (5 month old Severe Macaw) needing a good home posted by MARDENA. Well, I talked to her today & she agreed to let Nalah come home with me. I'm sooooo excited. Romeo might have a play mate, if they like each other that is. I won't house them together cause I don't want them to bond & forget about me. I'm going to make the 3 1/2 hour drive Sunday to go get Nalah. She lives in Ga also but on the oppisite side from me. I can't wait. Here's some photo's of her. She looks just like Romeo. Crystal

Thanks. Yeah she gave me her number so I called her. She is so nice. She is really upset about having to give her up but its for the best. I'm hoping since they are both Severe's that they will get along if they don't it don't matter. They will be in seperate cages anyway. I just think it would be cute to watch they play together & stuff. They are the same age too, well 3 weeks difference. It will be one more to handfeed but thats just double the fun. She said that Nalah only takes the bottle sometimes, not all the time. Now I can tell everyone I have a baby still on the bottle. Crystal

Oh definitely, a new baby is a very good reason to get a new camera.

BTW, forgot to say in my earlier post, she is very pretty!

Pretty or Hansome. Not sure yet what the sex is. I'll definitly have to find out cause I know for sure Romeo is a boy. So if she is a girl, well you know what can happen. I'll have to watch them like teenagers. lol Their not old enough now but they will be eventually. Crystal

Congratulations on the new addition!
I have heard that when they have a "playmate" that they can really get into some trouble. They become their own little gang.

I know how much of a troublemaker my friend's severe is so I couldn't imagine trying to keep up after two troublemakers.
Can't wait to hear how they get along together after quarantine.

Congrats and best wishes!

Severe macaws are indeed beautiful birds... lucky you will get to share your home with 2 of them!

I just noticed in the pics that you posted that it looks like the bird is fully flighted. Is this true? Or could it be just a show cut for the feathers? I would really be nervous to have the bird outside with it's flight feathers intact. But then again, I don't take O'malley outside even with his clipped wings.
