Peanut Butter OK?
I read in Bird Talk yesterday that someone feeds mashed banana and peanut butter to their bird for a treat. Is it oK? I wasn't sure about the p. butter. I did let Chipper taste it and she liked it.

Yes it is good for them. You'll find folks here use it in various recipes with items such as sweet potatoes. We grind our own to avoid and chemical additives and added sugars.

 waeh, peanut butter... it never really made it over to austria/germany so i don't like it since i didn't grow up with it, and i have to admit that i never bought any....  (it's hard to change what you're used to, right?!), but i might get around to getting some for the fid - maybe he likes it....oh, and yes - it's fine for birds, but make sure to avoid giving too much sugar (ie feed in small amounts)

PB and apples, or PB and grapes, yummmm yummmm says my fids !
Tonight for din din was sweet potatoes, pb, apples, grapes, banana chips and yogart chips. Wish I had a tape recorder going, the moans and the yummms was hysterical !!

I use all-natural peanut butter without any extra sugar, salt, etc. I put it on toasted wheat bread as a treat for the birds. I definitely want to try it with mashed sweet potatoes!

I use peanut butter for several recipes for all my babies. They especially love the peanut butter & sweet potatoes.

Well when Max decides it's time to come up with a parade of annoying sounds I quickly grab his "stainless steel teaspoon" which hangs on his gym & smother it with PB & fresh bananas (bought it from Greyfeather toys).
Guaranteed to put a "sock in it" ie his beak and end's the "cell phone, squeaky door, microwave beep, door squeaking, water dripping sounds" he decides to do once in awhile
