Busy day of preparation!

My husband works for Michigan State University and part of what he helps maintain is the Kellogg Biological Station, and that includes the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Well the director of the santuary is going to be retiring soon and his 45 year old scarlet macaw passed away about 3 years ago. He had a BIG cage for it and he offered it to Randy. We steamed it and cleaned it top to bottom (BRRRR it was cold outside today) and brought it home! I can not wait for Einstein to be able to use it! It is about 5x4x28 and it will be awesome for Einstein to have time outside in the yard with us in the summer! (when he is not right with me on the aviator harness that is!) I also made a play stand for him! Counting down, 7Days and my baby will be here with me!

The little darling human children in the background are mine!
Jen

Very nice cage. I'm sure Einstein will love the summer trips to his backyard next year.

I hope so. It is my desire to have him with us as much as possible! I will even get to bring him to work with me! (not every day but I am hoping for at least 4 days each month) He will spend many days surrounded by my kindergarten lovlies! I am sure he will learn a few things from them.

Uh..oh... tons of little people about... Max fluffs up and stomps away shuddering..

I'm sure little Einstein will have a ball.. Make sure you pay attention to everything Mary shows you on pick up day.. She does a good job instructing you on parrot care on the final day.
