I did a search on Ebay, and nothing came up. Do you know how long ago you got it? Would it be under a different name? I looked it up by the title that you gave!

Don - Pepto is okay for birds? I never knew that! What is the dosage? (I only ask since I would hate to see someone read that and give their bird an overdose).

Also, don't forget that corn starch and flour are food products and will grow bacteria. It should be washed off once the bleeding is totally stopped and Neosporin cream applied.

Lisa - I am all for a seminar. If you need a location.....

Diarrhea:

Remove fresh fruits. Feed cooked white rice, peanut butter, baby pabulum, canned baby foods, Chamomile tea, or a few drops of Pepto Bismol.

I searched, and couldn't find anything as far as how much to give to a certain species. This is where I got the "few drops" from.

I understand why you're asking, but this is all I can find.

So it is mixed in with other stuff. Glad you posted that. Thanks for the info!

I know barium has soothing qualities. Maybe the "chalkie" stuff (is that a word??) in Pepto has the same soothing qualities.

Over a year ago, I tried to get my bird club interested in a hands on first aid seminar-no takers.

Here's the most important thing to add to your first aid kit. A credit card. Why? So you can pay the vet for the treatment the bird will need. Or stash a couple hundred dollars cash and don't touch it unless the bird needs it. There should never be more than 48 hours (weekend) delay in getting a sick bird to the vet-preferably a certified avian vet. Try to find a weekend emergency option too in case you ever need it.

Hehe Tiki I think that was the best add on to the first aid kit....I have my dads Credit Card on Hand....lol...He's like "just dont tell me the bill-I don't wanna see it". He's a big softie when it comes to our birds...and to me as long as I don't use that same card to lets say buy the new green LV purse
