Cage Covers

Can someone PLEASE recommend a good cage cover. I purchased one when we bought all the accessories needed to bring Zoe home but it didnt do the trick. You could almost see right thru it and she could certainly see out. I recently bought another one from a different pet store and wouldnt ya know it.....same problem. She is suffering from lack of sleep . We were in the process of turning one of the bedrooms upstairs into a bird room when we got the call from the kid saying he was moving back home so poor Zoe is still being kept awake by a busy household. Its not at all that it is noisy here because that is NOT the case. The main problem is the light. I need a light on at my computer at night when I work and no matter where I position her she can see it and knows I am there. Do they make covers that are lined? I dont want to order something online and have it come in just as thin if not thinner then the ones I already have. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i use a dark blue bed cover sheet to cover valo's cage since i regularly work late and he still has to go to bed. i leave a corner open for air circulation, but it does the trick well.

I am a photographer, and I had purchased this black cloth from walmart to use as a background, but it turned out to be not big enough. So I am now using it as a cage cover. It is a really thick black cloth, and there is no seeing through it at all. I also make sure to leave one spot open, but since they have a very large cage, the hole is at the bottom, and the sleep at the top, so it doesn't bother them.

For my Paulie, I use an old tablecloth. It is a plastic one lined with fabric, and it isn't as light proof, but it's good enough. I plan on getting some more black fabric for him one of these days.

I also use king size flannel sheets for the 2 that are inthe family room. The 2 guys that have their own room, I dont cover at all. My guys never seem cranky either, so I guess they sleep

if shadow wants to go to sleep. he will. hes such a good baby.. doesnt matter if the lights are on and the radio is loud.. if he wants sleep hes gonna crawl in his happy hut and shut his eyes. he needs no covering

there have been a few random times i have needed to cover his cage.. i also used a dark colored sheet. worked excellent .

We sell cage covers at the store where I work. They are called Cozzy Covers (I believe). Very nice but very pricey.

I don't cover my birds cages. They wake up with the sun (for the most part) and go to sleep when it gets dark outside.

I don't cover mine either. I always worry about them having night fright - and it can happen with birds other than tiels. I also wonder if it keeps the heat out in the winter and the cool air out in the summer. I could never figure out why people cover their cages thinking it keeps the birds warm. Maybe for the summertime with the AC, but not the winter.

I do realize some folks want to cover their birds for "sleep" issues - both birdie and human.
