question-

someone had told me about using vineager and water in the birds drinking water dish once a week to help clean out bacteria in the birds.
they say to use 1 teaspoon to a gallon of water.then feed it to your birds in there water dish once a week..
my question is has anyone ever done this..and does this really work.i have never heard of this before. i tried to look this up on this site to see if any one else has use this.the only thing i found for vineager and water is a cleaning agent for cages..... thanks donna

It's apple cider vinegar w/ the mother in it. The mother is the floaty stuff. YES, Floaty stuff is the technical term . It provides an acidic situation where yeast can't grow. It isn't a miracle cure as some have stated. It changes the balance PH in the system. For my flock of Macaws. I use a 1/4 tsp in their water bowl once a week.
