We have a 'tiel and a green cheek conure. Never had any complaints luckily. I always wonder though if they make a lot of noise while we're not home?

Last year, we had new neighbors moved in below us and beside us...and they both had cockatiels! That got a little loud for a while because they all kept calling to each other! Luckily, the 4th person in the building never seemed to mind!

I have a very quiet Ruby macaw, 3 amazons (sometimes noisy around bedtime) and 3 Green Cheek conures (fairly quiet most of the time). One amazon was WAY quieter than 3. And my macaw is blind, so I think she keeps quiet somewhat instinctively, perhaps not wanting to call attention to herself.

Berta still does the macaw squawk every so often (maybe 5 or 6 times a week - not even on a daily basis). But that doesn't seem to bother the neighbors, probably because it's fairly rare, and it never happens past 8 or so at night. My birds also are kept in the dark till mid morning hours. And although they do wake up significantly earlier, they're quietly grooming until the curtains open, so that ensures that the real bird noises never happen in the very early morning.

When we had only one GCC she was very loud and you could hear her out on the sidewalk with the windows & doors closed! But when we got her a "flock" things got a lot quieter. They do everything together. She was mostly doing her "contact call" when we'd leave for work or whatever.

I have fostered a Mitered conure - very loud! The neighbors said he was the only one they heard (unless the birds were outside on the porch). The neighbors were glad when he found a forever home elsewhere, I'm afraid. So I can't recommend aratinga genus conures as an apt. bird based on my own experience. I've also had budgies without any problem and I have a pair of Eastern Rosellas (they're also quiet).

Ollie and I live in an apartment, and have for 2 years. No complaints from neighbors, just the current roommate. And only because she likes to sleep during the day when Ollie and I like to talk back and forth. I think if I had more than one bird it wouldn't work though- I'm sure they would egg each other on.

Me an my girlfriend live in a 2 bedroom apartment. We have one conure who is very well behaved noise wise. Clover just get's a little noisy when we wake up in the morning (after we uncover her cage) and when we get back from work.

I live in an apt with a senegal. She gets screechy around that late afternoon time, and that's the only time I really flinch about the noise. She contact calls too, and I wonder if another bird would calm or spur her on. She definitely settles down when I leave the house--maybe 3 mins of calls until she gives up.
I haven't had complaints, but I don't let her call and call for me on the weekends (when people are home), I just take her with me when I move from room to room. I don't let her call at all, so that she doesnt think its SOP.

Years ago, I lived in an apartment with two obnoxiously loud Lovebirds. The woman next door was elderly and a little deaf, so I got away with it. The neighbor above had a Goffins that competed with my Lovies for Volume!

I live in a house with neighbors very close now...just have one African Grey...and the entire neighborhood comes to check if he's talking yet!

My next door neighboor was VERY excited last week...I had the windows open and Tuki whistled the wolf whistle when she walked by! LOL
They're all fascinated.

He's very quiet now that I'm home with him all day.
