I was looking (and hopefully still am) to build a 4'w x 8l' x 7'h - minimum - aviary. Being that I am picky as far as wire goes, and I don't want mesh that can be chewed up, I'd be looking at AT LEAST about $200 for the wire.... It's not that the wire is THAT expensive, but it's not easy to find what I want in the SIZE I want, therefore, if I bought the wire for about $200, (one BIG roll) I'd actually have enough wire mesh to build TWO aviaries of decent sizes. Of course, if I really wanted to, I might be able to get away with building one for $75 or less (bunch of small rolls), however that's with wire I feel less comfortable about using and on top of that would probably have more wasted wire, too.

check out www.parrotmount.com . I know they have very good priced SS cages. But I don't know how much shipping would run.
In fact that is what we raffle every year at our club bird expo, a large SS cage from Parrotmount. Lynda Quote:

That is an incredible cage Grillis! I would love that for my finches. So well lighted and pretty. Now my conures would probably chew their way out in no time at all.

I felt bad posting Maxi after seeing the amazon. But then the sensible part of me said maybe she put the bird in the cage to just get votes. Either way I feel terrible for the bird but disgusted by the owner.
They seem to be gone now but did anyone see the picture of the two large amazons in the rusty round cage clinging to the bars. They had no perches or toys and was posted by a " rescue". I was livid to say the least! It seems it got yanked pretty quick. Lynda Quote:

Those Amazons I was talking about are on the front page of the contest! It is horrid! It says two amazons in a rusty cage with no perches or toys at a parrot rescue! That is not rescue at all! Things like that make me sick!
I would just like to say the rescue Max is in is the FWCAS Parrot and Exotic Pet Bird Rescue. At this time we are a 501-C4 organization. We are open for tours and all you have to do is make an appointment with me. You can find more info at www.FWCAS.org. Look for the parrot rescue link. The rescue with those amazons give us all bad names! Lynda
