lots of cheating going on. This isn't right.
I don't think the site is checking the email address's.
I put in all 3 of my legitimate emails to vote. My friends are using all of theirs too. But, if it doesn't have to be a "real" email address then maybe this explains the cheating?

that explains it all right! it doesnt have to be a real address!! i tried a fake one just to see and sure enough "thanks for voting!"

i really want max to win!! not to sound mean, but POLLY, the fid whos winning, her cage isnt even THAT bad at all.. i think max deserves it more than anyone

LOL you guys are to much. I have had other people from this board and other groups say they would donate for a new cage if Max did not win one.
It is so sweet and very heart warming you would all care so much for Maxi.

Good news on the contest. This is from the flock moderator on the other board. Not that I hang out there, but I have been posting any problems there since you actually get a reply.

I just asked if anyone found the voting situation kind of fishy with Polly.

"Thank you for letting know about these issues regarding the contest voting system. We have fixed the problem with the email. Please let us know if you are still unable to cast a vote.
We are currently working on the second issue of the 400 votes being cast over night."

We do have to be cautious though. They will be keeping a close eye on the contest from now on to watch for anything that could be taken as cheating.

I really hope they find out what's going on, I truly hope they aren't cheating, but it sounds so fishy. Maxi has no idea how many people care about her!

Oh I think Maxi has an idea of how much she is cared for. I tell her everyday. We also have a litttle meditation time where I put a hand on her body and I let her lay her hand in my palm. Then I close my eyes, relax and try to send her the feeling of peace, love and comfort She relaxes and closes her eyes also.

I know it sounds like hokey to some but I have had very sick birds that this has seemed to work on. I feel the bird relax, their respiration rate drops, I really think they can feel it.

Aww, that is so sweet. I am so glad she is so well taken care of. Doyle does something similar and sleeps on me when I get clam and ready to take a nap. Such sweet birdies!

Polly only gets mass votes in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping. My friend from the birdclub is keeping track and says she is going to keep writing the bird channel until they answer her.

Exactly! It's got to be a mass voting program that runs automatically. At least Max's votes are all coming from various Birdboard members and their friends and family. I hope you can get that other bird disqualified. Well I mean the owner, it's not the bird's fault.

I'll make a small donation for Maxi's new cage if we decide to do that. Poor little bird! Yes, she deserves a new cage after everything she's been through. Everybody deserves a comfortable home, at least that's what I think! I tried to vote for her several times but kept getting shut out despite the fact that I'm a member. Don't understand that at all. So I'm all for helping Maxi all we can.
