Unhappy North Florida getting chilly.....

I luv all of ya'lll .... BUT

Will ya'll quite mentioning Florida in the same sentance as cold weather....

In Florida where I am ... panhandle ... right between Georgia and coast .... gettin REAL chilly ....

I have been spending the last 2 days doing the plant thing for cold weather ... covering or bring in house... ... and have NOT gotten all covered... in process greenhouse finished ...BF is putting up the rest of the visqueen as I type .....

I woke up to a cold 35 this am .... was only SUPPOSTED to get 38 ... but I am in a low lying area ... high today low 50's.....

Tonight 30 -33 expected...... high tomorrow ..around 48.....

Lows will be in the low to upper 30"s ... till Wed at least...

Oil heater has been on in birdroom solid for the last three days...

Birdroom is starting to look like a jungle ... with bird safe plants in it...

When I had the tiels out of cages in room last night ... they went NUTS. ... just had to check out each and every plant .... three hous later... and past thier bedtime ... I had to try and track them down amongst the plants to put them to bed ... got hard nips from both from taking them away from THIER plants

Can see this will be an "interesting" winter with the birds and plants ... the FIDS are more interested in the plants than Moma .... and still have 4 more plants the I want to try and fit in birdroom today....

Weaving thru plants to get to computer today .... bones ACHin..... glad I have the new meds .... cause this would have been a nightmare otherwise .... just about used all the energy I had with plants ... BF had leftovers last night for dinner....

You people from up north ... can take your cold weather ... BACK .... please

Shivvering .... Suz

Sounds just like western Oregon right now :-). Sorry it's bothering you. We (that would be Z and I, NOT my half hispanic children--they like it hot :-) like it just fine right now! LOL! Cool, kinda sunny, and very nice.

Suz:

Down here in Orlando the low is supposed to be in the mid 40's tonight....
It was 49 last night and when I woke up this morning around 6:30 it was 62 in the house! I had to break down and turn the heat on, everyone woke up with ruffled feathers this morning, their little butts were cold!

Brrrrrrr! That is cold!

Here it is 68 right now and I am bundled up with a long sleeve shirt, a heavy sweater and thick sweat pants. Our low was 46 last night.

Our high today is supposed to be in the low seventies, tomorrow it will be in the sixties!

ya know...........untill it actually does something extreme here, I am just going to stay out of weather conversations. Especially since this is our "summer" time on the Monterey bay. Our temps? in the 50's most of the time. When the sun stays out all day it gets up to 65 or so. :)

Thumbs up Freeze warning in N FL

For tonight... freeze warning in my area... expected low... 28 degrees at airport...

and where I live is usually 3 to 5 degrees colder..

Plants are already taken care of ie covered, inside or mulched with pine straw ( don't wanna loose my rose bushes or hibiscus)...now just have to go unhook ALL the water hoses .... and cover spicots (sp?.. now where is that spell checker)

BF needs to bring in more wood for fireplace ..... and we are set

We have had warning for cold weather for about 3 days.... but not THIS cold... prepared ....

Have had wassil (apple cider, touch of oj,pinapple juice and lemon with cinimon, clove and other spices ... Grandma's german recipe) simmering on stove this afternoon ... for a goood warm drink ... can be used straight, as warm mixer for booze or to mull wine.... smells like xmas..
