It's an interesting combination of species.
The specimen is unique for sure- but as radical the idea is, it's an affair the birds decided on, not the breeder. He didn't have the Galah in there so it would deliberately produce a hybrid. I appreciate all the species we have all come to know & love, but I have nothing against hybrids. IMO, a Galatiel is nothing worse or any more extreme than some of the other strange creatures that have appeared in the wild. Hmmmm, since recent DNA mapping shows that Cockateils are distantly related to the Black Palm 'Too, I wonder if the species gap is too wide for that Galatiel to be reproductively viable though.
