Help

My neighbors dog came into my apt today and attacked my tiels. The ones foot is kinda blue and swollen. I have moved her to a small carry cage so she cant hurt herself anymore by falling off the perch. What else can i do. They are also upset because they are separated for the first time in like 4 years. I have the carry cage close to the other cage so they can see and hear each other. I am very upset about this. Please any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help

Unless you know the exact amount of damage, it might be wise to take the tiel to a vet so that the foot, leg and toes can be checked for fractures or breaks or dislocations. If there are any, the vet can easily fix the problem before it gets worse or possibly infected--------Dave

Re: Help

OMG that's horrible. Vet check asap. If the dog bit the bird she is highly at risk for a nasty infection. Shame on the owners of the dog >:(

Re: Help

Hello,
Just wanted to give an update. After several days in a small carry cage she seems to be at about 95%. The swellng went down and she is perching very well. I have put her back in the cage with her friend and they are back to normal. Thanks for all the help.
