Petey couldn't stand having his flightsuit on. He'd pull his feet back so they would end up inside the suit & he could use his legs to try & push the suit off. All that did was turn him into a little ball that would roll around as he struggled. I eventually gave up.
Grace doesn't like the suit being put on, but once she's in it, she doesn't mind it at all (very rarely chews on it).
The longest she's been in it so far is 4 hours. That's about as much as the poop pouch can hold before there is enough in it that it starts to come in contact with the feathers around the vent.

tiny_teesha : Be careful of the "poop on command" thing. It's a proven fact that some birds take that training to heart so closely that they will kill themselves holding it.

i am really contemplating on getting a couple of harnesses, or flight suits for my two green cheeks. id love to get them out of the house when i take my amazon.

when i think about the differences between a flight suit and a harness (please let me know if i am wrong), the flight suit has a poop catcher, the harness is just the harness that goes around the birds body.

gizmotis posted this website http://www.fredbird.net/index.html in the bird training section. This harness is alittle cheaper then the Aviator but it looks really nice. This is what I'm going with when my fid finally comes home. Hope this helps.

I researched both flight suits and harnesses and my choice was also the Aviator harness. I don't like the way the flight suits are designed, with the velcro on the back and that huge clip that is used to attach the leash to the suit. The "leash" on the Aviator is built into the harness and so it cannot be "opened" like I've heard of some birds doing with that clip arrangement.

Good point, I never thought about my bird being able to unhook the clip. With that note I'll be going with the Aviator....thanks!

i like the sound of the aviator. When and if i get a key card i will buy it from the net, but until then i will have to just buy the feather tether it would seem.

Is there a purpose to either of these other than for it to be a leash for your bird?

not that i know of...like you can take your bird out and have control over him, even in the house if his feathers grow out.
