Miroki's new home

Hi guys.
Last Wednesday Miroki went home with my sister Stephanie. I love Miroki to tears and just want him to be happy, which I know he is. I can't get over how well they get on together.I was always jealous of the way he acted when she was around my house and near him.Stephanie has been asking me for months if she could take him to live with her but I kept saying no. I know I am going to cop flak of this, but I believe that he should be with someone he loves and if you had ever seen these two together you would be saying the same thing I have come to admit. They are great together, no biting or screaming when he sees her, he certainly never flew at her face. Miroki gets all sweet and soppy whenever he even hears Stephanie's voice. I think it was inevitable that and that he should have been living with her a long time ago. He never really warmed to me, lol ours was a very one sided romance. And I am very glad that he is with someone who I see all the time and I know will take loving care of him. She is even talking about taking him to school with her. She takes Elvis (her tiel) everyday and says that he really enjoys it. I am lucky (and I have said this before) that his attitude towards me didn't become a permanent part of his personality. Miroki is a wonderful quaker and now he has someone who he can be himself with.
Please if you read this and have something bad to say about me rehoming him with Stephanie don't post it please. I do feel horrible about him not being here anymore, but I do want him to be with someone who he can play with and chose to be with.

Katie - certainly you did it out of love for Miroki. If he gets along better with your sister, then why not make him happy? Believe me. My Scarlet LOVES my daughter to death. If I could have her take him, I would in a heartbeat. Her husband will not allow it. And, the best thing for you is this: Miroki is still in the family so you will always know how he is doing and can visit him at any time.

Katie, why ANYONE would think it bad on you for rehoming Miroki, I will never know! As I see it, if any one of my birds took to someone BETTER than they did me (specifically Noel), and that person was willing and capable of caring for that particular bird, I would, without a doubt in my mind, give that bird up! I'd do it for the birds happiness!

I'm glad that Miroki took to someone, since some birds just tend to pick out their owners! None of my birds have really chosen me, so I can't say I know the feeling of being chosen, as your sister was (by Miroki). Always great though that he's still in the family and will be loved just as much as you loved him!

I dont know why anyone would say anything mean. You did the right thing...You did it because you love him and want him to be happy. You put him first. Sometimes its just not meant to be.

Yeah, its actually embarrassing to see them together, like a pair of love struck teenagers.
I have told Steph about birdboard, so hopefully she will join too!

You did the best thing you could have, you sent Miroki into an enviornment where he is happier. I dont know why anyone would think that was a bad idea, I think what you did is wonderful.
